Workshops on Yasnaya Polyana floristry, Tula beetle, ceramics and even blacksmithing are also available for recording. The master class is a unique opportunity to learn the technology of creating traditional Tula souvenirs, gain invaluable experience, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient times.
Floristics is closely connected with the traditions of the Tolstoy family. Numerous guests of Yasnaya Polyana, while walking around the estate, made bouquets of flowers and herbs. We suggest you decorate the finished blank in the form of a samovar with our Yasnaya Polyana flowers and herbs.
Master class on the preparation of the Tula gingerbread.
The real curly “Tula” gingerbread is a subject of art. Gingerbread cookies were created by bakers in collaboration with board carvers. After all, it was with the help of a carved plank that the gingerbread cookies in Tula were given a unique, convex pattern. You can find out the recipe and prepare your gingerbread at our master class under the guidance of a specialist.
The history of Filimonovo toys, according to some calculations of historians and archaeologists, began as early as 1000 years ago. It is believed that during archaeological excavations near the Tula region were found one of the first, most primitive, clay toys of that period. They were small figures of birds, animals and people, which were only the design for a whistling mechanism. Filimonov painting appeared on toys at the beginning of the 19th century. In our museum of samovars you can find out the history and paint your clay toy.
The usual form of Russian candy is a cockerel, but in 1489 the forms of fish, a house and a Christmas tree were used, since the shape of the cock was too complicated. Nevertheless, taking as a basis the samovars presented in our museum, talented artists and craftsmen created unique forms for lollipops, and the restaurant chef at the Park Hotel Grumant developed special recipes for Samovar lollipops “in a Grumantian way”.
At the master class at the Museum of Samovars and Bulotok, the children will be able to make their own candies with the tastes of various treats that were served for tea:
– with creamy iris flavor
– with the taste of Tula gingerbread
– with cranberry and strawberry jam flavor
– with honey and mint flavor
and that’s not all!
